Project Management Intern - Summer 2019 Whataburger - San Antonio, TX 4 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $28,000 - $36,000 a year Apply Now Education * High School Diploma or GED Skills * Microsoft Project * Excel * Technical Writing * Project Management * Project Management Methodology Project Management Intern - Summer 2019-(00011104) DescriptionSummary Description: This position engages with the Strategy Execution and Portfolio Management (SEPM) department, specifically with the Project Management Office (PMO) Team, to participate in a variety of areas such as project management, business quality assurance, business services, business process engineering, records management, and technical writing to become familiar with PMO team functions and responsibilities. Partners with SEPM teams on special projects to provide additional assistance and support such as evaluating project metrics, providing input on project templates and materials, preparing analytical research for projects, documenting processes and requirements, defining reporting needs, analyzing records, and preparing research to support department technology and services. Responsibilities: * Reviews all papers, documents, and calculations to ensure the accuracy and/or consistency of information flowing through the team. * Shadows PMO team and becomes familiar with team functions. * Participates in PMO team meetings. * Researches and reports on PMO topics such as project management, reporting, quality, records management, process engineering and business analysis and project tools. * Participates in and contributes to supporting process development and documentation activities. * Learns Corporate project management methodology for topics such as planning, communicating, and facilitating teamwork. * Participates in and takes co-leading role supporting corporate and team building activities. * Completes special assignments. * Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. QualificationsEducation: * High school diploma/GED equivalent required * Currently enrolled in College and 15 undergraduate credits * Currently enrolled in College field of study Industrial Engineering, Business, or Information Systems and have completed a minimum of 80 hoursExperience: * Experience with MS Project, preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Basic knowledge of project management, technical writing, and process engineering, preferred * Proficiency in data entry and MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint * Completion of well-defined tasks or projects set by management in an accurate, timely and thorough manner * Possesses technical knowledge and effectively applies the knowledge appropriately * Takes initiative in recommending new processes for more efficiency in the role * Elementary knowledge of practices and procedures in a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities * Elementary understanding of departmental structure and policies * Basic professional knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities * Elementary understanding of departmental structure and policies with an elementary understanding of the cross functional structure and policies of Whataburger Restaurants LLC Work Locations: 300 CONCORD PLAZA DR 300 CONCORD PLAZA DR SAN ANTONIO78216-6903 Job Type: Full-time Education: * High school or equivalent (Preferred)
