Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning and support, logistics, data base management, research and analysis. Interns may explore career paths and apply for full-time positions upon successful completion of the program. EDUCATION Clinical Focus: College student with at least two years in a health sciences related program, such as pre-med, nursing, biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, or statistics, or post graduate student working toward a Master's of Science in public health or medical degree Non-Clinical Focus: College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required. Creates and carries out a cohesive plan for each assigned project. Establishes and maintains contact with all appropriate individuals to ensure that the plan is implemented in the best interest of the organization. Executes administrative and operational tasks for assigned projects. Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided and projects produced. Understands and complies with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations, while meeting all in-service requirements as outlined per policy. SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES* Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system. Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
