This is a wide-ranging support position that will assist the IT Manager with all aspects of computer set-up, installation, troubleshooting, service, upgrades, and maintenance. The position will also assist the IT Manager with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to a network of computers, and resolve local and network printing issues. This position may require some physical activity such as lifting and moving computer equipment into place or crawling in tight spaces. Job Description: * Assist IT department with providing technical support. * Assist with purchasing, distributing and setting up of hardware and peripherals for the IT department. * Assist IT Manager with deployment, monitoring, maintenance, security, and upgrades of IT Systems. * Confer with IT Manager regarding needs for software, systems, data, computers, and personnel requirements. * Analyze and reports back on the improvement and health of the IT systems. * Schedule maintenance, upgrades and repairs with minimal or no negative impact to business operations and network users. * Prepare and generate documents and reports. Experience and Education Required: Experience with IT Systems and a career interest of the IT field. Preferred: Attendance at an accredited College or Trade School in a technology field or 4 or more years of IT related experience in a business environment. *Additional Eligibility Qualifications *Professional Certifications in an area of IT. Skills * Some knowledge and understanding of IT systems, programs, standards and techniques. * Some knowledge of telecommunications, network, and server and workstation operating systems. * Ability to identify IT system issues and correct problems. * Ability to research, understand and recommend new advancements in IT systems. * Use analytical and observation skills and demonstrate the ability to fulfill the expectations. * Ability to manage a variety of activities simultaneously. Work Environment This job operates in a professional engineering office environment. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time position of no more than 30 hours per week. Days and hours of work will occur during normal business hours of Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Job Type: Part-time Work Location: * One location Overtime often available: * No
