Assistant Director, Intern/Resident Training Program Clinical Management Oakland, California Description The Intern/Resident Training Program Assistant Director provides managerial support and technical assistance to the Intern and Postdoctoral Training Program (IPTP) Director in the overall administration, leadership, planning and implementing of WCCs Internship and Postdoctoral Training Program. The Assistant Program Director (APD) supervises clinical staff and ensures the delivery of high quality therapeutic services to children, youth, and families in accordance with all professional, legal, ethical, and regulatory standards and requirements. Approximately 60% of this position will consist of direct clinical supervision of clinical interns and residents and 40% will consist of administration and coordination of Intern/Resident Training program (ITP/RTP) activities. How you'll make an impact: Direct Supervision * Provides direct, individual supervision to ITP/RTP Trainees * Provides ongoing, regular feedback and evaluation to supervisees on the quality of their clinical work. Solicits feedback from supervisees regarding supervision and whether needs are being met. * Provides support and training where needed to assist interns/residents in meeting WCC billable hours requirement/intern caseload requirements; charting, record keeping, and documentation standards; and all other quality assurance standards. * Ensures that supervisees comply with all legal and ethical practices, co-signs supervisees progress notes (as needed), clinical forms and correspondence as a legal representative of WCC. * Adheres to requirements for supervisors as stipulated by WCC policies and procedures and Board of Psychology regulations. * Assists the supervisees in developing training/professional development goals for the year, and collaboratively monitors progress toward those goals. * Complies with all WCC policies, procedures, and deadlines related to billing, record keeping, and documentation. Clinical Auxiliary Services * Participates in WCC meetings, administrative program meetings and trainings as required. Program Development * Participates in program development and planning in accordance with APA and APPIC guidelines. * Assists Program Director in identifying program needs, goals, priorities and service gaps. * Attends appropriate meetings as assigned by Program Director * Assists Program Director with the development of program policies and procedures in adherence with APPIC and APA guidelines. * Writes up policies and procedures at the direction of the Program Director. * Assists Program Director in monitoring training needs of trainees and supervisors. * Assists Program Director in outreach and building collaborative partnerships with other training sites. * Supports coordination and implementation of clinical training for interns and residents. * Develop curriculum/training content and provide trainings as needed. * Attends and facilitates (as needed) monthly staff meetings * Attends and (assist in facilitation) of monthly IPTP supervisors meeting. Program Operations * Helps to coordinate and implement intern and resident selection process with Facilities, other relevant departments. * Interface with facilities and IT to ensure support for program activities. Administration and Management * Assists Program director in monitoring accreditation requirements and with preparing the 2019 reaccreditation self study and site visit. * Participates in WCC meetings, administrative program meetings and trainings as required. * Assists Program Director in monitoring clinician caseloads to ascertain if clinicians are on track to meet monthly service delivery goals. * Provides support and training regarding WCC service delivery; charting, record keeping, and documentation standards. * Participates in weekly IPTP Supervisors Meeting. * Provides feedback to Program Director regarding performance of trainees and overall operation of IPTP program. The ideal candidate has: * CA psychologist licensure with a minimum of one to three years post-licensure experience preferred. * Demonstrated experience in supervising psychological testing and psychotherapy. * Demonstrated experience in administration and management. * Experience in EPSDT Medi-Cal reimbursement, billing, and quality assurance regulations. * Previous experience working in and/or managing an APA/APPIC accredited training program. * Experience in developing and implementing curriculum for doctorate level trainees. * Experience working in diverse communities * Bilingual, bicultural clinicians and clinicians of color are strongly encouraged to . Competencies (skills, abilities, and knowledge): * Knowledge of community mental health systems and DSS. * Knowledge of community psychology and the delivery of psychological services in community-based or mobile settings as well as clinic settings. * Knowledge of community resources in the greater Bay Area * Knowledge of current regulations relevant to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and the Board of Psychology. * Knowledge of APA and APPIC regulations and educational standards for graduate level trainees. * Knowledge of multicultural issues including race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, etc. * Experience working with children, trauma, and the foster care/social service system. * Expertise and ability to handle both cognitive and psychological /emotional aspects of psychological assessment * Familiar and comfortable with both traditional and collaborative assessment, and able to use assessments as a tool of intervention. * Able to work as a team with other therapists, social workers and facilitate collaboration between professionals and systems. * Excellent organizational, analytic, and leadership skills. * Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
