Human Resources Intern Illumination Foundation - Orange, CA 9 hours agoPart-timeEstimated: $23,000 - $32,000 a year Apply Now Skills * Administrative Experience Purpose: The HR Internship takes you behind the scenes of a local non-profit. This position will work directly with the Human Resources Department in providing support with a wide range of projects and activities related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding and more. Intern must have a passion for our mission to break the cycle of homelessness, as well as an interest in HR. Key Responsibilities: * Participate in the recruitment process by posting for open positions, coordinating interviews and screening resumes * Facilitate the onboarding process by initiating background checks and tracking new hire documents * Conduct reference checks for new hires * Prepare new hire and exiting paperwork * Organize personnel files to reflect confidentiality guidelines * Assist HR Administrator with new hire orientations * Track performance evaluations and ensure completion in a timely manner * Track completion of new hire onboarding items * Assist employees with Paycom (Our HR software) * Abide by strict confidentiality policy * Track performance evaluations * Perform administrative work to support the HR department Direct Supervisor: HR Administrator, Employee Relations Manager Time Commitment: This is a part-time, unpaid position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. About 10-20 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. Hours are flexible. Qualifications: * Education in the following or related areas: Human Resources, Business, Management, Psychology, Sociology or related field * Possess and exhibit an interest in the fields of non-profit and HR * Excellent interpersonal skills, high organizational ability, great attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Support: Training for this position and education about other HR aspects will be provided. Illumination Foundation staff will also be available for questions and assistance every step of the way. About Illumination Foundation (IF): IF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that addresses the crisis of homelessness in Orange County through integrated services that provide appropriate solutions.
