Requirements & Wage Information Interns must be currently enrolled in undergraduate school. *Intern II: * $17.26 - $21.87 [Undergraduate student] The Finance and Business Operations Division's mission is to provide timely, efficient and accurate accounting, procurement, treasury, payroll, benefits and small business services. The Procurement & Payable interns will conduct data analytics, clean up within our databases, develop and update Standard Work procedures, assist with analyzing unclaimed property items, and assist with archiving records. Examples of tasks include researching information, contracts, and best practices, collecting and updating data, drafting summary reports, updating information and providing general support. Potential for student learning in this internship: The intern will exercise skills in communication, collaboration, research, project development and implementation, and will become familiar with the structure and organization of King County government. The intern will improve project management skills. The intern will improve understanding of standards and processes. The intern will gain expertise in working on project teams. Conduct research and data analysis related to information collected within our databases. Assist with developing standardized tools and processes, including data and contract information. Collect, tabulate, and summarize purchasing data. Assist with internal/external communications about reports and databases. Help plan, organize, and attend meetings and training events as needed. Support internal updating data efforts as needed. The intern will improve communication and writing skills. The intern will gain knowledge in working on Unclaimed Property. Review standard work procedures and observe AP Staff to ensure accuracy of information gathered as it relates to procedures that exist in our databases. Identify any standard work procedures that need updating or documenting. Assist with internal/external communications about reports and databases. Assist with Unclaimed Property project as needed. Assist with Records archiving as needed. *Internship requirements and qualifications: * Basic knowledge of the principles of public procurement or accounts payable processes. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of software products used in an office environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook. Self-motivated, flexible and able to work independently. Other Position Information: These positions are overtime-eligible. Our employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, normally between 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. These positions will be working no more than 40 hours per week, depending on assignment area and school schedule. These positions are not represented by a union. Ready to Apply: 1.
