Executive Strategy Internship University of California Office of the President Requisition Number: 20190036 Appointment Type: Staff - Limited Personnel Program: PSS-Uncovered Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Percentage of Time: 100 Organizational Area: CEB: HR/Fac/Director's Offc Location: Oakland, CA Posting Salary: $20-$30/hour Position Summary: THIS IS A NON-CREDIT PAID INTERNSHIP WITH AN 8-10 WEEK DURATION. Continuing Education for the Bar (CEB) is seeking an MBA intern to join the Executive Director's Office to focus on the development of CEB's digital transformation strategy. CEB is a small, self-sustaining non-profit unit of the University of California operating in the legal solutions and education sectors. This is a high-impact role that will partner with the CEO/Executive Director and senior executives to tackle the diverse challenges posed by digital transformation and disruption in the legal services industry. The strategy intern will contribute to the ED's Line of Sight initiatives that support the CEB's growth goals and transformation agenda. The internship will also provide exposure to the broad range of work in different areas including people and culture development, product management, marketing and analytics, partnerships and acquisitions. Special Conditions of Employment: Other Special Conditions of Employment: This internship is open to UC or other college/university students. The internship does not include relocation funding to Oakland. This supervised internship is an 8-10 week, full-time work experience during the summer, a maximum total of 400 hours based on a standard 40-hour work week. Candidate Review will begin February 20th; applications will be accepted until the position is filled Job Close Date: Duties Duty 1: *Perform market analysis *Conduct analyses of competitive and technological trends *Synthesize information from multiple sources into compelling and data driven recommendations *Design systems and processes to help measure and manage the progress of business transformation *Develop a model for partnerships *Develop business cases and supporting presentation materials for acquisitions Function:1 Percent: 100 Job Requirements Strong quantitative skills and the ability to thrive in relatively unstructured environment. Ability to break down complex problems into pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, assumptions and judgment. Ability to create financial models, strategic frameworks and PowerPoint presentations at a high level. Ability to communicate both in writing and in person, clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and with limited oversight. Mission driven with interest in non-profit sector and commitment to the highest standards of honesty and integrity. Enthusiasm for collaboration, and building strong, trusting relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organization. Enthusiasm for receiving, sharing and acting on regular feedback. Deep interest in and understanding of trends and competitive challenges facing professional publishing, information or legal industries.
