Undergrad Intern - Accounting Career Category Finance Job Description Amgen is searching for a full time Undergrad Intern student to support the Accounting Department. This role will report to a Director Accounting staff member and will be based on Amgen Manufacturing Limited Juncos site. The expected hire date for the student is Summer 2019. The Undergrad Intern will work closely with the Accounting's team. Student will have the opportunity to support the Departments continuous improvement initiatives/projects and daily operations support in Amgen Manufacturing Limited. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Assist team members with the preparation of journal entries, general ledger account analysis and reconciliation * Assist with preparation of reports and special projects * Consolidate and report global inventory balances by product/site and perform detailed monthly variance analysis * Actively support the cost accounting team by following up information needed * Assisting with pre-work done for month end closing procedures * Interact with Amgen senior and mid-level management * Exercise sound judgment and show initiative * Actively seek opportunities to streamline assigned processes and cross-train with peers * Assist in Robotic Process Automation project management activities, process interviews and data analytics BASIC EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Be in the process of earning a Bachelors degree in Finance and/or Accounting * Have completed at least 2 year of college education * Be enrolled in school * Not yet graduated * Pursuing an applicable degree or course of study PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Computer technical writing skills, as well as use of Word, Excel, Office * Organization and time management skills * English and Spanish proficiency Amgen is committed to unlocking the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics.
