What job title, keywords Where city, state, country Home View All Jobs ( 2,452,428 ) Job Information Spectrum Health Internship - Innovations in Grand Rapids , Michigan Facility: Other - GRAND RAPIDS, MI Department: Billable-Sh Innovations Category: Business Professional Classification: Contingent/Temporary no Benefits (C4) Spectrum Health Innovations (SHI) is looking to add a paid, part time (20 hours/week) business analyst intern to its team starting mid-May, and continuing through June 30th, 2020. The Innovations team works with Spectrum Health employees to develop and launch new health care products and technologies such as medical devices, surgical tools, nursing products, rehab equipment, hospital equipment, as well as software and apps. SHI reviews new ideas submitted by Spectrum Health employees, analyzes each idea and selects the most promising ideas to pursue. SHI then develops these ideas into working prototypes, protects potential intellectual property, and launches ideas via licensing or formation of a startup company. SHI, in collaboration with Grand Valley State University and Kendall College of Art & Design, was awarded a grant that will support collaborative medical product development projects between the entities over three academic years. The business interns primary tasks will include: Perform business analysis of new ideas and identify the most promising, while providing great customer service to all employees who have submitted these ideas Perform top-down analysis of health care trends and opportunities, to proactively help identify areas that SHI should explore further, that may lead to possible areas of opportunity Work with our lead business analyst and entrepreneurs in residence to develop business plans for promising ideas Identify medical device companies who would be partners that would license SHI technologies and/or co-develop new products and technologies together. For the role, were looking for someone with good analytical and writing skills who can help do internet market research and build out a business plan. For example, for a given medical product idea: what are competing products, how do they compare, what is the market size, and related information that will help us determine if the idea is something we should dig deeper into and possibly pursue. The best mutual fit would be someone with great analytical and writing skills, who can articulate complex information and ideas clearly and concisely, and who also understands the world of entrepreneurship.
