IT Support Intern - Summer 2019 Comm-Works, LLC - Plymouth, MN3.1 7 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $26,000 - $35,000 a year Apply Now The IT Support Intern will support the operations and maintenance of all devices and applications that end users and clients depend on to accomplish business tasks. The support will include administration of receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end user help requests in a multi-task and face paced environment. Support of problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools. As a Comm-Works IT Support Intern, with guidance from our experienced team members, you will: Support response to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically in a helpful, courteous manner. Support documentation of pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue as directed Support the installation, configuration, diagnosis, repair, and upgrade of all corporate hardware and equipment. Support on-site and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC/mobile device/etc problems for a variety of end users. Assist in the setup and administration of mobile device equipment Support the recording, tracking, and documentation of help desk request problem-solving process. Support the maintenance of hardware asset inventory as additions/changes are made. Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet as directed. Support transfers, additions, and change requests as directed by the IT Support team. Gain knowledge and understanding of our corporate IT policies Support the maintenance and documentation of hardware inventory. Gain a hands-on understanding of diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting. Support hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications. Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals. Learn test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved. This opportunity is specifically open to full-time students currently enrolled in an Information Systems, Technology or other related degree program able to live and work in the Twin Cities Summer 2019. Desired Experience/Education: Currently pursuing a degree in the field of computer science or related Knowledge of Microsoft tools Knowledge of desktop and server operating systems, including Microsoft technologies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Some knowledge and interest in Microsoft based desktop and laptop computers. Some knowledge and interest in Wired/Wireless/Network connectivity Some knowledge and interest in Mobile device (smart phones, tablet pc, etc). Desire to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Passionate about technology and its potential to transform the way we work each day.
