EDF opened an office in Northwest Arkansas twelve years ago and has been expanding partnerships in the area ever sense. The main goal for this internship will be providing support to our regional office. We are looking for someone that excels in written communication, blog writing, research, and social media communications. The intern will focus on developing and writing communications for the Supply Chain team and and our regionally focused work. This could include researching environmental media, creating communications, doing social media communication and graphic design, writing blogs, doing regional messaging, and creating one-page informational handouts, how-to guides, and other communications materials. Key Responsibilities Tasks could include but are not limited to: Writing stories that feature the regional efforts such as; climate and energy, agriculture, consumer products, sustainable supply chains, deforestation, and others. Compiling an internal newsletter for stakeholders. Proof reading and editing documents such as, large internal and external communications, case studies, white paper, and thought leadership. Assisting with social media and other communications. Various internal and external communications such as: writing reports, fact sheets and blogs. Performs duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be a current student at a University. MFA or PhD candidates preferred in study areas including but not limited to English, journalism, public relations, or communications. Strong writing skills required. Strong ability to show breadth and depth of writing and editorial style and judgment. Strong storytelling, problem solving, and strategic thinking and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and team communication skills required. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of social media platforms required. Basic understanding of green shopping or environmental business. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work. Self-starter with ability to work independently. Compensation This internship would involve either compensation for hourly work paid at a rate competitive with leading non-profits or academic credit.
