Social Media Intern Tonic Books Publishing - Portland, OR 15 hours agoPart-time$9.80 - $10.00 an hour Apply Now Education * Bachelor's Degree Skills * Marketing * Digital Marketing * Creative Writing * Social Media Management Social Media Marketing Intern LOCATION: Remote STATUS: 4-6 Hours / Week EDUCATION: Must be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelors Program at an accredited college or university. Preferred programs include: Communications, Marketing, Psychology, Publishing, English or Journalism COMPENSATION: $10/hr DESCRIPTION: This position is ideal for someone who is interested in furthering his or her education and experience in the world of digital marketing, social media, or communications. The ideal candidate has previous social media experience and is familiar with all platforms on a personal and professional level. Learning objectives will be achieved through training, observation, and hands-on work under close supervision with constructive feedback. All duties and responsibilities below are facilitated under close observation through a mentor-trainee relationship. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about new media and all things #. This internship will take place during the summer semester of 2019, but are looking to hire immediately. DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES: * Supporting our team to curate & create daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages follower engagement * Distributing event information and promo material across multiple online channels and public event calendars * Drafting and editing copy for website, newsletters and media materials * Build and update mailing list * Possibly writing blog posts to engage followers in our mission * Source photos, quotes, videos and relevant content about our brand & events REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Must be extremely detail-oriented * Demonstrates familiarity in having a social media following or managing a social media community (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat) * In-depth knowledge and understanding of all social media platforms * Strong creative writing and communication skills * Flexible in work hours * Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner & meet deadlines * Strong team work skills * Must be reliable, motivated & a self-starter * Must have a laptop to perform work-related tasks WHO WE ARE: Tonic Books is a partnership publishing house working on creating the next great wave of life-changing books.
