If you're proactive, goal oriented team player with the ability to work independently this Radiology Technologist Student Intern position is perfect for you! The Radiology Technologist Student Intern assists radiology technologists conduct radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to. 1. Obtains quality radiographs of patients within the department and with all portable equipment in an acceptable timeframe. This excludes exams in the OR. 2. Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely, competently, and under the supervision of a registered technologist. 3. Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech and PACS). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physician's orders are verified. 4. Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner. 5. Prepares examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance. This includes all work areas and patient dressing rooms. 6. Assists the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient under the supervision of a registered technologist. 7. Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) and completes verification process in PACS. 8. Completes and maintains mandatory educational and employee health requirements. 9. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to HIPAA Policy and Procedure.
