Programs Intern (423-915) Tracking Code 423-915 Job Description Programs Intern Are you a high achiever interested in making the world a better place through your work? The Arbor Day Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees and is headquartered in Lincoln, NE. Interns will work directly as a functioning member of our Programs Team, which develops, grows and operates the Foundations programs. As an intern, you will be exposed to a variety of opportunities to make a significant impact, particularly within urban forestry. This internship prioritizes racially and ethnically under-represented undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in learning more about the non-profit sector. Responsibilities : Identify and provide needed resources to community-based organizations dedicated to planting and caring for trees throughout the country. Support the Alliance for Community Trees network through developing and facilitating a series of online training sessions. Support the administration of the annual Partners in Community Forestry conference and Alliance for Community Trees Day. Participate in one or more tree planting events facilitated by the Foundation and partnering organizations. Presentation at the end of the internship identifying additional opportunities and ideas for the Foundation to support its mission. Qualifications : Passion for the Foundation's mission and environmental stewardship. Positive outlook and attitude. Well organized and detail oriented. Self-starter who can work independently and as a member of a team. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects. Effective time management and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization. Good listening and memory skills. Pursuing a bachelors degree.
