Manufacturing Engineer Intern Challenge Manufacturing - Irving, TX3.0 3 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $23,000 - $33,000 a year Apply Now Skills * Lean Manufacturing * Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing * AutoCAD Duties and Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training. The ideal candidate for our Manufacturing Engineer (ME) Intern role would be familiar with: OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) GD&T Geometric Dimensions & Tolerance Kaizen Optimization and ergonomics of Production Facilities Plant Layout AutoCAD Continuous improvement Projects: Weld Cell Layout and Operational Improvements - Please see attached sample. Develop/Update a Value Stream Map for every T1XX weld cell (16 cells total) Develop a Risk Assessment Proposal for every T1XX weld cell (16 cells total) Develop a Failure Mode Effect Analysis for every T1XX weld cell (16 cells total) Develop and document a minimum of 1 Kaizen Activity per week during employment Develop a Presentation on 5S Principles for Operators Develop a basic 1 hour Presentation of Lean Manufacturing actively using basic terms like Gemba, Poke Yoke, Heijunka, Muda, Muri, Mura Audit and develop Standard Work Instructions for every T1XX Weld Cell Develop recommendations on PPE needed using DMAIC approach Develop Standardized Work Instructions (Job Element Sheets) Requirements: Majors Considered: Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering GPA Requirement: 2.5-4.0 GPA Student Classification: Junior/Senior Authorized to work in the U.S. Type of Position: Full-Time Intern / Semester Co-Op, or Full-Time Semester Internship (Summer only) June-August 2019
