Intern, Materials Engineering Job Description This intern will optimize the materials and processes used in the manufacture of Meritor components. This position reports to the Manager of Analytical Chemistry. Job Requirements Provide metallurgical support under the guidance of the experienced metallurgical staff Perform materials characterization for the purpose of failure resolution and product improvement Provide project needs of assigned divisions Provide technical reports Operate and maintain Materials Engineering equipment Manage assigned individual workflow/cycle time for assigned projects Develop technical expertise in Materials Engineering and Product & Manufacturing Operations Build links to customers establish good working relationships with customers Operation of various laboratory instruments including GC-MS, EDXRF, FT-IR, TGA, DSC, Stereo-microscopes Basic interpretation of collected data Maintain laboratory lubricant durability analysis equipment Collate data in the form of laboratory reports, Excel and PowerPoint presentations Final report and presentation on all project assignments during internship QUALIFICATIONS Pursuing a B.S. in Metallurgy or Materials Science and Engineering is required Organization and communication skills Demonstrates a passion for learning ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy or chemistry of organics, oils, and greases Job Code\: #LI-DNI Share With https://www.jobs.net/jobs/meritor/en-us/job/United-States/Intern-Materials-Engineering/J3Q4S169GGQC8R845RJ/ Intern, Materials Engineering Job Snapshot Employee Type: Full-Time Location: Troy , MI Job Type: Experience: Not Specified Date Posted: 4/22/2019
