External US POSITION SUMMARY: 50% - The Technology Development Group is responsible for the development of printhead technologies and operating techniques for implementation into future printhead products. These technology development activities include fabrication technologies, jet design, jetting operability, image quality evaluation, and jetting performance measurements. The current position is responsible for characterizing the influence of various different printing factors on printing success. 50% - Analytical and Materials Department (AMD) is responsible for selection, testing, qualification and implementation of materials in print-head manufacturing. Testing and qualification of materials includes literature searches related to application, understanding industry testing standards, designing and prototyping test specimens, conducting tests with statistical analysis and implementing the technique. KNOWLEDGELearns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.JOB COMPLEXITYWorks on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.SUPERVISIONNormally receives detailed instructions on all work.EXPERIENCETypically requires no previous professional experience. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Use existing test techniques to evaluate printhead and ink combinations targeting high viscosity applications. Use practical and physics based approaches to troubleshoot jetting issues to determine root cause at the phenomenological level. Work with other engineers and scientist to develop design strategies and approaches to solve observed issues and improve performance.Understand the materials used in our print-heads and categories them. Understand the in-house Materials compatibility testing (including MCK samples)Research and compile information on relevant industry standards for materials used in print-heads (Carbon, molded plastic, O-rings, Gaskets, Epoxies, adhesive, sealants, encapsulants etc.)Based on the research, design and recommend tests that Dimatix and our customers can use for materials compatibility. Implement a subset of the recommended tests.Using statistical analysis, prove the repeatability and reproducibility of the recommended test/s.Investigate accelerated testing options.If the materials compatibility testing involves properties analysis, confirm if AMD has the capability to test and if not, provide a list of equipment that AMD should invest into.
