The Social Media Intern is responsible for coordinating and executing key aspects of the California Closets social media strategy, working across key social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including all major social media platforms. This role offers the intern a total immersion into a busy digital lead acquisition and branding efforts of California Closets. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our brand among both prospective and existing customers. We are looking for a proactive individual with strong project management and organizational skills. A successful candidate will report to our Sr. Social Media Manager and assist with developing and publishing content to our national California Closets social media networks while engaging with our community and customers. This is a paid, full-time position. Must have reliable transportation to our office at Ford Point in Richmond, California. Key Duties May Include: * Working with the on-site Sr. Social Media Manager to create and implement social series and campaigns. * Assisting with the creation of engaging, high-quality content for our primary social media channels that may include all or a subset of the following: (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube), including promotion of our influencer collaborations. * Interacting with customers and engage with influencers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (customer service, answering questions, etc.). This includes escalating and routing customer service inquiries to the relevant franchise / corporate-owned location. * Assisting with the development of monthly editorial content calendars and scheduling posts via our third-party publishing tool, Hootsuite. * Work with on-site Sr. Social Media Manager to create clear, identifiable objectives for audience growth, engagement, and brand awareness. * Research and post interesting and news articles/blog posts, links, etc. that support the brand and its values on various social media platforms. * Track key social media analytics on a monthly basis, including Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn company stats, etc. *Skills Required for the Role: * * Some in social media management preferred but not required * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * An interest in marketing, communications, social media and/or reputation management. * In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube. * A passion for writing clever, catchy copy that captures the California Closets brand voice and messaging. * Basic knowledge of Photoshop and/or mobile photo editing apps a plus * The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. * Familiarity with third-party publishing tools, such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social * Some familiarity with social media analytics, including Facebook Insights and Google Analytics a plus.
