Details Posted: April 21, 2019 Location: Danville, Pennsylvania Show Map Salary: Open Type: Full Time Discipline: Academic / Research JOB TITLE: Intern (PhD) LOCATION: Center for Health Research DEPARTMENT: Imaging Science and Innovation WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Flex JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Imaging Science and Innovation of Geisinger Health System is seeking multiple highly motivated summer graduate research interns in the area of machine learning and its applications in medical image and multi-view data analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a translational data science team and apply your academic knowledge to challenging real-world problems in life and health sciences including cardiac data analysis, mHealth, and biomarker discovery. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: - Right mindset to work in a fast-paced research environment on healthcare projects - Ability to build scalable predictive models on real medical image and data - Background in image processing, computer vision, machine learning, statistics and big data analysis - Experience writing performant code using R and Python - Experience with deep learning algorithms - Experience with statistical analysis using R is a plus - Experience with interpretability of machine learning models is a plus - Experience with medical image analysis is a plus - Experience with CUDA and GPU programming is a plus - Experience with Linux operating system is a plus EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: - Graduate student working toward PhD (preferred) in computer science or related fields - Experience with real data and image analysis is preferred WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is performed in an office environment The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
