STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL INTERN Corporate Environmental Risk Management (CERM) - Tucker, GA 1 day agoFull-timeEstimated: $33,000 - $45,000 a year Apply Now Education * Bachelor's Degree Skills * Excel * Computer Skills * MicroStation * GIS * Microsoft Word JOB SUMMARY: CERM is currently seeking a Staff Environmental co-op/intern to join our Tucker, Georgia office for approximately 13 to 15 weeks during the summer semester of 2019 and could possibly lead to a year round internship. The Staff Environmental Assistant is an entry-level professional who will assist with work on a variety of projects under direct supervision of an experienced professional. The ideal candidate would be currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program as a Junior or Senior student in a relevant engineering/science discipline. This opening is for a 40-hour per week position and part-time employment will not be considered. It is preferable to have a co-op candidate who could return to the position for up to two additional rotations during their undergraduate studies. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The responsibilities of this role include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: Assists Project Managers as required Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects Assists in the development of construction cost estimates for various projects Attends client and public meetings Assists in preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permit and designs for various projects Coordinate with technical staff as necessary Serve as onsite project representative as needed Reviews construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents Perform field tests Direct subsurface exploration Sampling Air and Soil Overseeing Remediation efforts Environmental due diligence Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: This is a partial listing of necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job successfully. It is not an exhaustive list: Knowledge of Basic concepts, theories, and practices for the area of technical specialty Proficient written and verbal communication skills as well as proficient mathematical skills Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel Able to read and understand project plans and specifications Strong interpersonal skills Required Experience MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Required: Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program as a Junior or Senior student in a relevant engineering/science discipline is required Preferred: Working knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, Inroads, Civil 3D and/or GIS LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS: None required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must regularly lift/ move up to 25 pounds and infrequently lift/ move up to 50 pounds Must be able to walk several miles in extreme weather conditions Stand, walk, use of hand finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls Reach with hands and arms Talk and hear Sit, climb/ balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl WORK ENVIRONMENT: Regularly works in varying outside weather conditions where noise levels can be loud Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes and airborne particles CORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT, L.L.C. is a Certified Drug-Free Workplace and Equal Employment Opportunity Employer that does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), national origin, ancestry, age, and/or disability.
