IT Help Desk Intern Promethius Consulting, LLC - Indianapolis, IN 46268 $12 an hour Promethius Consulting, an IT consulting firm located on the Northwest side of Indianapolis, is seeking an IT Service Technician Student Intern. * Are you an IT student looking for professional on the job experience? * Do you thrive in a technical customer service environment? * Are you a good troubleshooter and helpful by nature? * Are you ready to gain hands-on experience in an energetic IT consulting firm? OPPORTUNITY: This position supports the IT department by performing assigned tasks or assisting with assigned projects, allowing the intern to gain an understanding of the business function. This is a great internship opportunity to gain professional hands-on experience with computer help desk support in a corporate information systems organization. This intern position will work under the direction of experienced IT Service Technicians to help with Service Desk requests, troubleshooting efforts for hardware and software support incidents, computer installs, build and rebuild hardware, and projects. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, striving for excellence and looking for real world experiences. Must have a valid drivers license for traveling to and from clients. It is anticipated that this internship will start ASAP and is expected to last up to a year. Internship may end sooner depending on need. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Contribute to troubleshooting efforts for computer hardware and software support incidents * Help to fulfill service requests ranging from staff moves to software installation * Travel to on-site client locations to pick-up/deliver/deploy machines * Provide over the phone and remote access IT support * Execute remote maintenance of Microsoft Terminal Services systems * Communicate with vendors in order to service defective products * Assist with Ticketing * Any other duties as assigned Desired Skills and Experience QUALIFICATIONS: * Recently completed or pursuing a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Project Management or a related field * Availability to work 20-24 hours or more per standard work week M-F, day shift * Customer-oriented mentality with effective people skills * First-rate verbal and written communications skills * Ability to effectively share and communicate information with other team members * Inquisitive approach to problem solving with fine attention to detail * Desire to constantly build knowledge and skill base * High integrity, reliable, empathetic, and a positive team player contributing to company initiatives About this company : Promethius Consulting,headquartered in Indianapolis, provides world-class, on-demand computer network support and IT management for small and medium businesses.
