The Purchasing Intern supports the Purchasing Department by placing purchase orders, working with vendors on confirming orders, working with plant personnel on any order discrepancies, and completing miscellaneous projects as needed. The student intern will gain experience in procurement for the cylinders manufacturing industry, and will learn about one of the worlds leading pressure cylinder manufacturers. Candidates must be willing to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. The primary responsibilities include: * Place purchase orders as needed * Maintain accurate delivery information for p/os in our ERP system * Research any p/o or invoice discrepancies * Work with suppliers to expedite orders as needed * Complete vendor returns * Follow all departmental procedures for placing p/os * Generate and maintain reports as needed * Complete other miscellaneous projects This intern program has been highly successful at giving valuable experience to students as well as providing potential long-term opportunities within the company.
