Job Description As a member of our software team, you will help build our cloud platform which is based on emerging technologies such as OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, and SDN (Software Defined Networking). As a software developer intern, you will collaborate with various engineering teams to gain valuable experience in areas such as development, systems, and network. You will help the development team in delivering significant product values and drive technical directions for our new cloud platform. You will have the opportunity to shadow multiple engineering departments with an emphasis on software development and coding. This internship will help you acquire software development skills and provide you with knowledge of various emerging Cloud technologies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in software development and network/systems engineering and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment. Candidates with prior knowledge in the areas mentioned below would be given preference. This is a paid internship position to work with a group of smart and motivated people in beautiful and historic downtown Charleston, SC. You will work a minimum of 20 hours a week (hours to be determined based on candidate availability) and will receive an hourly rate based on experience. This internship is ideal for current students in the Charleston area looking for part-time experience immediately. Micfo is unable to provide relocation assistance and/or visa sponsorship for this role at this time. What Youll Bring: You should be pursuing a bachelors or masters in computer science or related field Foundation knowledge in modern computer architecture, data structures, algorithms. SQL/NoSQL and Linux system Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, React, Go, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages Knowledge of Git and CI/CD - Jenkins Knowledge of Container Orchestration like Kubernetes Knowledge of Cloud Providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. Bonus for candidates with knowledge of Ansible, OpenStack, KVM, VMware or Docker How to Apply: Please attach your resume along with a cover letter explaining what makes you the right candidate and why Micfo should hire you.
