PRODUCTION & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS INTERN, SUMMER 2019 Invertigo Dance Theatre - Los Angeles, CA 15 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $21,000 - $31,000 a year Skills * Marketing * Dancing * Google Docs * Microsoft Office * QuickBooks Full-time, 10 week Paid Internship Description Invertigos intern will be an important member of our staff through the summer and will get hands-on experience with several aspects of running a dance company. The Production & Community Programs Intern will help Invertigo prepare and plan for the companys productions and the community engagement programming related to those productions. The intern will also work on projects related to Invertigos producing shows & planning community programming involves a lot of planning, research, scheduling, and organization, including the following specific duties: Assist the Operations & Production Manager in organizing video and photo server files and Google drive files. Assist the Operation & Production Manager in basic bookkeeping in QuickBooks, including entering financial transactions. Assist the Community Programs Manager with planning, research, and other activities related to community engagement activities, including Dancing through Parkinsons, Invert/ED and company productions. Assist the Artistic Director in researching, organizing, selecting and distributing photography prints to Invertigo supporters, schools and studios. Assist the Artistic Director with office and production tasks as needed Additional activities may also include filing, scheduling, social media posting, and assisting with production and stage management duties as needed. Qualifications Desired qualifications include: interest or background in dance, performing arts, production, and community engagement; excellent writing skills, experience marketing an organization or event through social media; proficiency with Google Docs and MS Office; curiosity and an inquisitive mind; self motivated, the ability to work independently, as well as working in a collaborative and professional manner with a wide range of team members. Being detail-oriented and able to organize data in Excel and Google docs is very important to this internship. Most of the interns work will be between 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday, at the Invertigo office in Culver City, with some local travel to rehearsal, events, and performances. We will ask the intern to help with evening or weekend events. Because the Production & Community Programs Intern will be present at rehearsals and events, some kind of reliable transportation is very important. This can be public transportation as long as the intern is adept at navigating the routes and reliably arrives on time. Invertigos interns interact with a wide range of people related to the organization, which may include teaching artists, administrative staff, interns, volunteers, and board members. As a member of a highly-collaborative, small, and ambitious organization, other duties and responsibilities may arise. Everyone on our staff has changed the ink in the printer or taken out the recycling from time to time. In addition to their full-time 10 week paid internship, interns will participate in educational events as part of the program, which is funded by the Getty Foundation.
