Job Summary The Communications, Marketing & Promotions Intern will assist the Communications Officer and the Communications and Marketing Specialist with carrying out the duties of their office, dealing primarily with disseminating information about UK Transportation Services and its programs. These duties will include general communications, marketing, promotions and public relations for Transportation Services; staffing informational tabling events for transportation and bicycling-related events; utilizing photography skills for social media, website and other printed materials; assisting with developing social media campaigns and materials; utilizing Adobe Illustrator and/or InDesign for in-house promotional materials; and other duties as appropriate. This position reports directly to the Communications Officer. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities A background in or educational focus on communications and/or marketing is preferred. The successful applicant should possess the ability to learn complicated materials quickly and to converse easily with UK students and their parents. Experience in photography, social media campaigns and Adobe Creative Suite products is desired. The successful applicant must be able to represent the department at official events in a professional and courteous manner. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
