Our Human Resources Department will assist students to navigate through the civil service hiring and examination process. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. Work Schedule Flexible hours, Monday through Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM. Final schedule to be determined between supervisor and student. Additional Work Schedule Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; Winter, Spring & Summer. Student Assistants are not permitted to telecommute or work remotely. Prerequisites To be considered for this summer internship position, you must be graduating from high school this year (2019) and either accepted into a two or four year accredited college or university for the Fall 2019 term OR currently enrolled in a two or four year accredited college or university. Students do NOT have to be attending classes during the summer to be considered for the position. Students intended field of study or declared major must match the major(s) listed in this job announcement. Position Description Preferred Qualifications Clerical experience is helpful but not required. Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist the Shared Services department by: Serve current medical reports to applicant attorneys or injured workers using the 8087 cover letter. Review Shared Services CARE in-box for incoming medical documents. Identify appropriate reports to send: Label each report with physicians name and date of report on an as needed basis. Verify claimant name and claim. number. Generate CARE letter with medical documents to shared drive. Provide backup coverage, as needed, for other Shared Services functions, appropriate for this classification, including miscellaneous tasks or projects to assist other programs. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, scanners, and fax machines, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment.
