Part-time Mechanical Engineering Intern L3 Technologies is a leading provider of a broad range of communication, electronic and sensor systems used on military, homeland security and commercial platforms. L3 is also a prime contractor in aerospace systems, security and detection systems, and pilot training. AMI is a leading supplier of integrated electromechanical assemblies to commercial and military prime contractors. The company designs equipment to meet client specifications and manufactures high-precision components to produce high-quality assemblies. Products include special purpose instruments, maritime vessel control panels, power supply and distribution assemblies, and surface vehicle and power generating plant control assemblies. We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineering Intern that will participate in the design, manufacture and test of simulation equipment. In this role, the intern will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks under the supervision of senior level engineers. Potential assignments may include developing 3D models, detailed 2D drawings and interfacing with manufacturing to ensure a smooth build process. Qualifications: Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering technologies Candidates must have completed at least 30 college credit hours and be currently enrolled as a full time student. Must have existing or recent (within last two years) DOD secret or above security clearance Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher Must be able to communicate effectively, apply sound engineering principles, contribute to the team environment, and have a strong desire/aptitude to learn Must be able to work 20-40 hours a week in the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma area Desired: Familiarity with engineering documentation - drawings, bills of material, etc. Technical writing experience, such as user guides or maintenance manuals Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other mechanical design software Knowledge of SolidWorks EPDM vault operations Candidates will be reviewed weekly.
