Marketing and Development, Special Events Intern Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers - Columbus, OH 1 hour agoFull-time$10 an hour Skills * Addiction Counseling * Catering Experience Benefits * Flexible Schedule Summary: The Marketing and Development, Special Events Intern will work directly with the Director of Marketing and Development to support fundraising and community relations events. These include Annual Gala and Recognition Dinner, National Health Center Week, Ground Breaking Ceremony for new facility, and Whitehall Food Truck Festival. This position offers the student significant opportunities to build networking contacts, explore several career paths in special event planning, marketing and development while developing immediate job skills. We offer a flexible work schedule and are looking for one part-time intern during summer 2019. Reports to: Director of Marketing and Development Pay: $10/hour Dress Requirement: Business Casual in accordance to Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers dress code policy Work Schedule: Part-Time Position/2 days week POSITION DESCRIPTION The successful candidate will aid Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers (HOFHC) staff in furthering the goals and objectives of its strategic plan by supporting the team in effectively communicating with and programming for potential donors and community members. Duties include assisting with the planning, execution and staffing of special events, generating publicity and facilitating communication for special programs and events. Other duties as assigned may include managing research, compilation of event materials, management of supplies, management of volunteers, and participating in various meetings with internal and external staff. This position will be housed at Capital Park Family Health Center, 2365 Innis Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224. The student is required to perform both independently and collaboratively on tasks with significant impact on the success of HOFHC. The student is expected to demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, tact, and strong written and verbal communication skills. These skills will be utilized to enhance HOFHC fundraising programs and events as well as marketing for the organization. BENEFITS OF THE POSITION The student will gain an understanding of potential career paths in marketing, development, and event planning, while acquiring respectable portfolio samples and interacting with business and community leaders. This position provides the student with the opportunity to work independently and creatively to obtain experience in self-management, responsible decision-making, teamwork, task follow-through, relationship building and professional-level job expectations. QUALIFICATIONS Students entering at least their sophomore year and studying in a business, marketing, communications, or other applicable major. The student will also have a desire to pursue a career in marketing, development, or special events planning. Experience in catering, meeting logistics, organizational development, and public relations are a plus, though not required.
