Intern, Journals Marketing SAGE Publishing - Thousand Oaks, CA3.7 5 hours agoPart-timeEstimated: $25,000 - $34,000 a year Apply Now Skills * Excel * Time Management * Fact Checking * SharePoint * HTML5 Overview The Journals Marketing Intern role will offer broad-based education on various marketing strategies and tactics in order to market SAGE Journals. This position will work closely with Journals Marketing Managers providing support with our advertising sales initiatives, non-direct mail, other marketing campaign efforts, and social media. This internship is paid, part time (15-25 hours per week during normal office hours). This is a summer internship with the potential to expand into the fall 2019 semester. Candidates MUST be current students able to work out of our office in Thousand Oaks, CA (remote work is not permitted). Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities The job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Assist in execution of our annual advertising rate card process to include: copy writing, editing, fact checking, and proofreading Assist in the execution of our advertising sale marketing initiatives to include: pulling lists, updating SharePoint, editing, proofreading, etc. Complete other departmental projects related to online marketing and non-direct mail Review Journals Marketing content for distribution on SAGE social media channels Write draft copy for SAGE Journals to post on SAGE social media channels Support growth of existing social media channels through analysis of key influencers and trending topics as assigned Research and suggest content for existing SAGE Twitter accounts as assigned Monitor and track results of social media marketing efforts as assigned Learn and utilize various marketing systems as directed Additional job functions may include, but are not limited to the following: Assist Marketing Managers on marketing campaigns to include managing project workflow, status of schedule, copyediting and proofreading across all marketing channels, as directed Support Vertical channel marketing teams on special projects, upon request this may include doing research, gathering and analyzing data, support of article level promotion, and supporting campaign strategy implementation Contribute to copywriting for marketing campaigns, upon request Learn about publishing and SAGE business through SAGE Learn courses, as assigned by manager Qualifications & Education Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following: Must be a current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university. Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related program of study is preferred. Extensive use of basic social media tools, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. Familiarity with Hootsuite is a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel Familiarity with HTML and content management systems desired Experience conducting online research desired Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organization and time management, and the ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
