Intern Summer 2019 Department: Product Development Position Summary: Titan Manufacturing & Distribution is seeking an Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2019 to focus on the design, testing, and overall quality of our finished product packaging. A significant part of this role will be around reviewing and improving existing packaging designs. This role will be heavily data driven, using the data to drive appropriate decisions. In this role you will be working with internal and external resources to achieve functional packaging goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, material and processes Work to provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions Work closely with our quality team to establish standards and guidelines for product packaging Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Work closely with global suppliers, engineering, and operations to determine ideal packaging solutions Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage Recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs Participate in knowledge-sharing efforts with other departments for new items Qualifications (Education and Experience): Current enrolled in a bachelor?s degree program of related field required (Mechanical/Industrial/Packaging Engineering) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently to achieve aggressive goals Team coordination skills Ability to work with other departments as the expert on new items. Coordination with Customer Service, Marketing, Quality Control, and other departments may be required.
