This is a government-registered apprentice program with both on-the-job training to embed skills from real world context and a formal education based in a classroom setting. Then youll focus on one of our service specialties: o Diesel Engines Light duty, midrange, heavy duty & natural gas o High Horsepower 19 95 liter engines o Marine Pleasure and commercial vessels o Power Generation Consumer and commercial products o Service Operations Business management and process training During your apprenticeship, you are a full-time, paid employee who will complete a development program with the support of our coaching technicians and managers. Our agreement with you ensures you receive the following upon successful completion: o Cummins Level 1 Technical Competency (minimum) o Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree, Automotive & Diesel Technology o No college debt Cummins pays for your education o U.S. Department of Labor Trade Certificates for Diesel Engines Course credits that are transferable towards a bachelors degree Job Requirements The success factors for this apprenticeship and your career as a Service Technician are simple. Minimum Requirements: * Applicants must meet minimum community college general education course requirement of 2.8 GPA high school (unweighted) or 22 ACT score. OR have a * GED with one year of college with minimum 2.8 GPA * Ability to properly and safely use and maintain common hand tools and electrical testing equipment. * Familiar with Windows and Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook (email) Physical Requirements (times are approximate) * Standing 7.5 hours per day * Pushing/Pulling 4.0 hours per day * Sitting 1.5 hours per day * Lifting 1.5 hours per day * Lifting up to a maximum of 80 pounds * Bending 3.0 hours per day Compensation and Benefits Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
