If you responded YES, please read on We are currently looking for a Electrical Engineering Intern in our Melbourne, FL location. Engineer Electrical Design performs aircraft avionics installation engineering and participates in the design, development, and integration of aircraft In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) Systems and components through engineering analysis, research and design. The Engineer primarily supports the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) program development and installation design as well as provides sustaining engineering to airline customers. Primary responsibilities include: Microprocessor microcontroller design; Printed wiring board layout; Firmware design; Documentation and working with a development team Evaluate design components of existing LiveTV designs and recommend product improvements Generate electronics production drawings Interface with electronics and mechanical designers as part of a design team Design, assist, and execute design validation tests and electromagnetic interference qualification tests Minimum Qualifications: You must be currently pursuing one of the following degrees as a Junior or Senior: Engineering (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Information Systems) Experience with Microprocessor microcontroller board design Experience with printed wiring board layout Experience with Firmware design Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact and explain technical details with other engineering teams Be organized, able to take instructions, work in a time sensitive environment, and be able to solve problems independently or/and under limited supervision Self motivated, critical thinker with technical background Ability to work independently as well as in teams with members of other engineering and non-engineering teams Returning for at least one more semester following the summer 2019 internship Able to work full time hours (40 hours) for 12 weeks starting May 2019 August 2019 Previous work experience outside the classroom Great written and verbal communications skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under deadlines Authorization to work in the United States Next Steps If you are up to the challenge and wish to apply, please make sure you include: CV/Resume Examples of project work/research reports/studies completed Your contributions to Thales' cutting-edge products will make possible the continued delivery of excellence.
