Within the Transportation team in Public Works resides the Smart Systems team, a contributing partner to the City-wide Smart Cities team, and the lead for the federal grant program, Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD). The ATCMTD program aims to leverage advanced transportation technologies to improve congestion and safety in Denver. The program focuses on connected vehicle technology to drive these improvements. This internship reports to the ATCMTD program manager. In this role, you will be exposed to a full range of program management experiences, including establishing project scope, understanding procurement practices, running team coordination meetings, technical testing and documentation, task tracking and management, external communications and reporting. Since the ATCMTD program involves introducing new technology into an existing transportation environment, a blend of project management techniques are used to oversee the effort, including agile project management and lean startup methodologies. As an Intern you will experience the following:, * Maintaining product backlog and in-progress tickets through an agile project management tracking system * Drafting user stories with project stakeholders * Updating tracking tickets during meetings with the program team or stakeholders * Producing or drafting new and existing reports using a range of project management tools to communicate project status * Producing meeting minutes and notes * Conducting product, new technology, or market research * Assisting with technical documentation and technical notes alongside engineers * Scheduling meetings with internal and external stakeholders * Drafting initial documents, incorporating best practices from external documents and research, or proof reading existing draft materials About You Our ideal candidate will be/have: * Attention to detail * Experience with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI.) * Excellent written and verbal communication * Research skills beyond that of Google * Good analytical and critical thinking skills * Dependable * Detail oriented We realize your time is valuable so please only apply if you have at least the following required minimum qualifications: * Current enrollment in a college program leading to a bachelors degree related to the field specific to the department and/or work assignment.
