The Role The internship will run from approximately June 3rd through approximately mid-August, though additional work may be available for exceptional performers. This is a paid full-time temporary summer internship. 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday for approximately 10-13 weeks. Below are 4 Internship roles we are seeking. REQUIREMENTS: Org Transformation and Leadership Value Intern Intern to support on-going Korn Ferry Institute quantitative and qualitative research on organizational transformation and disruption. The intern will be instrumental in helping us collect and organize new datasets pertaining to strategic and leadership elements of organizations in order to support our research and complement our world-class datasets of individuals assessments. Responsibilities include: Partner with Economist and Senior Manager of Research on two discrete projects: preparing organizations for transformation and disruption including leadership, strategy, and organizational design and the development of a leadership index. Conduct in-depth data collection to add to our growing datasets of organizational variables, with the goal of moving toward organizational data as robust as our individual assessment data. Data collection, cleaning, merging, sorting, descriptives, and analyses: To populate dependent variables for 255 transformative companies To research and categorize strategic approach for 255 companies within established taxonomy To support the creation of organizational transformation archetypes To collect information from publicly available sources to populate variables in the leadership index, including but not limited to education, experience, leadership styles/skills, age. To research which CEOs have held more than one role Maintain absolute confidentiality about the materials read and handled. Leaders of the Future Research Intern Intern to support on-going Korn Ferry Institute quantitative and qualitative research on Black P&L Leaders Research Study and CEO of the Future Research Study. Responsibilities include: Partner with Director of Thought Leadership and Client Research Partner on in-depth qualitative coding of 25-40 behavioral interviews with Black P&L leaders Partner with Director of Thought Leadership and Client Research Partner on in-depth qualitative coding of 40-50 behavioral interviews with CEOs in APAC and EMEA. Using Nvivo or other qualitative coding software, tag quotes and research insights according to pre-established coding classifications, and create story summaries according to interview questions. Collect publicly available individual-level demographic data including number of industries worked in, tenure per industry, education, nationality, etc. (approx. 500 data points). With intimate knowledge of data gathered, provide sound byte findings, key themes, suggested relationships between variables, etc. Bridge gap between research findings and applicable recommendations for internal and external use for organizations wishing to advance minorities. Data cleaning, merging, sorting, descriptives, and analyses. Agile Client Execution Intern Intern to support the creation of client analytics work, templates and automation, and interpretation of analyses. This will help the client analytics team drive more agile execution at a lower cost. More integrated insights will include a deeper integration of organizational strategy, data and market trends, and functional and level insights, as well as actionable recommendations. The resource will also allow client analytics and data scientists to focus on other strategic analytics work and innovation. Responsibilities include: Focus on client project work, augment the team Build templates, apps, or other automation that increases efficiency for the team Provide consultative interpretation on top of analysis Data Science Intern Intern to work on discrete innovative analytics projects that require data science expertise. Introduce KFI analytics team to data science techniques and the Python programming language via a set of weekly/ bi-weekly sessions. Potential projects include the following: Work with third party Infinia ML to analyze data being collected on KFOS to identify groups of predictors that drive outcomes at an individual level and tradeoff accuracy with effort required to collect information Leverage NLP skills to uncover personality markers from textual information e.g. BEI interview transcripts Responsibilities include: Partner with KFI team members to understand the objectives of the analytics projects and the data available Design an approach for analysis leveraging data science algorithms and techniques Ingest and process the data in a cloud platform like AWS leveraging Python programming skills Test and validate the predictive power of various algorithms leveraging cutting edge data science techniques like word embeddings and deep learning Conduct weekly/bi-weekly sessions with KFI analytics team members to introduce the Python programming language and discuss data science applications for KF data Skills & Experience SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Upper level college student or recent graduate Desired Skills and Competencies The candidate should have a demonstrated expertise in Data Science or other technical discipline, and strong verbal skills as evidenced by appropriate course work or the verbal scores on SAT, GRE or GMAT exam Independent judgment. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and to manage own time under very tight deadlines. Reliability, integrity and discretion regarding maintaining confidentiality of material Proficient in Microsoft applications (MS Word and Excel).
