The Global Codes and Standards team (GCS) is part of Carrier WHQ Engineering and drives long-term organic growth for our businesses by advocating for technically based improvements to requirements from a defined set of regulations, codes and standards. We participate in product development from the earliest stages to assess the regulatory environment and assure that barriers are identified and addresses at the earliest stages possible. Our team helps drive changes and improvements to codes and standards through a virtual team of more than 200 technical committee members to elevate life safety, comfort, energy efficiency, environmental and food standards that also benefit our business. We are seeking a summer Codes & Standards Intern to join our team. The selected candidate shall have a blend of intellectual curiosity, research and analytical skills as well as demonstrated teamwork skills. Core Responsibilities Maintain, update and improve database of Carrier technical committee representatives, gaps and country-level analysis of relevant codes and standards. Maintain, update and improve Global Codes & Standards teams SharePoint site and other communication media. Understand and document codes and standards setting processes (ANSI, UL, NFPA, ASHRAE, ISO) to support our technical expert teams worldwide. Experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Highly motivated Intellectual curiosity is a key success factor as well as being a quick learner and efficient researcher. Ability to work well both independently and within a team Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent Microsoft Office, including Access and SharePoint, is critical. Fluency in English. Chinese, French, German, Portuguese or Spanish also a plus. Education Pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering and/or Management.
