Join a team that has the environment down to a science. Our Southern California team is seeking an Environmental Scientist intern to provide technical support on a variety of projects. The position will support environmental site assessments and remediation; sampling programs; remedial evaluation, design, and monitoring activities; environmental impact assessments; environmental compliance and permitting; and data interpretation, analysis and reporting summarizing the above activities. Your Opportunity You will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team of environmental scientists, geologist and engineers while participating in office activities associated with a wide array of projects involving environmental consulting. Your Key Responsibilities Review field document data and assist in the completion of staff level work (data management, report preparation) on environmental remediation/management projects for commercial/industrial clients. Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned. Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data. Draft technical reports. Perform other technical duties as requested. Your Capabilities and Credentials The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for learning about environmental consulting as a whole, is willing to take on new challenging tasks, and would like to work with diverse team of professionals from different environmental backgrounds. Specific experience and qualifications in the following areas are also required: Proficient in Microsoft Office software Strong detail orientation and ability to organize and prioritize a diverse array of assignments and duties Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong technical writing skills Self-motivated and ability to work independently and with a team Commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is second to none Must have a good driving record and valid drivers license Education andExperience Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management program. Two years of college education in environmental sciences or natural resource management and within approximately 1-2 years of graduation. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
