Part-time, Internship Overview Student Intern will support healthcare business administration in various projects supporting CommUnityCares mission of strengthening the health and well-being of the communities we serve. The student is responsible for supporting a new or existing project for the services provided by CommUnityCare. Internship program supports the students growth in the understanding of the business obligations for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The intern will have the opportunity to support projects related to the healthcare business processes, as well as rotations with key members of the leadership team. She/he will learn how to use project management tools to complete specific tasks and provide support to any of CommUnityCares projects that include infrastructure projects and clinical focused projects. Responsibilities Essential Duties: * Support CommUnityCare operations with a primary focus on gaining practical work experience and business skills. * Works under close supervision with limited latitude for initiative and independent judgment. * Help to develop project work plans and coordinate projects to include establishing work plans, leading team activities. * Work with project team members or subject matter experts to define project scope, goals, resource requirements, timelines, and deliverables * Document existing operations or workstreams and analyze potential changes to maximize coordination or efficiency. * Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of: * General office practices and procedures Skill in: * Excellent verbal and written communication * Simplifying complex topics into easy-to-understand language * Basic Microsoft Office proficiency Ability: * Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers. * Work effectively in a professional team environment. * Deal tactfully with staff members, physicians and customers Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: * Currently enrolled in and actively attending Huston-Tillotson as an undergraduate student. PREFERRED EDUCATION: * Junior or Senior pursuing a BA/BS degree MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical environment, either in an administrative or clinical capacity.
