About PaintCare PaintCare Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established by the American Coatings Association (ACA), the primary trade association of paint manufacturers, to implement state legislated paint stewardship programs on behalf of architectural paint manufacturers in states that pass paint stewardship laws. Funding for PaintCare programs is provided by a fee on new paint sales in participating states. Funding is used to establish drop-off sites where the public can take unwanted leftover paint for recycling, pay for the recycling of the collected paint, conduct public education about proper paint management. PaintCare currently administers programs in California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Position Description: American Coatings Association (ACA) and its affiliate program PaintCare seek a qualified candidate to join their team as an Accounting Intern. The Accounting Intern will directly assist the Accounting & Finance Team with a range of projects related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and travel & expense reconciliations. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her area of study and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Accounting plays in the non-profit organization setting and be better prepared to work in the arena of accounting. The Accounting Intern will learn the practical application of: * Shadowing members of the Accounting team as they perform their duties * Learning reimbursement systems and assisting with revenue processing * Assisting with account payables and receivables * Reconciling staff travel corporate card charges and expense reimbursements * Assisting with audit preparation * Completing miscellaneous, special projects of the Finance department as needed Qualifications: * Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Accounting * Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles * Attention to detail * Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously * Aptitude for mathematics * Proficient in Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications * Excellent verbal and written communication skills View more info View less info Report this job 1.
