Medical Repair Apprentice Northfield Medical - Fort Lauderdale, FL2.1 15 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $29,000 - $39,000 a year Apply Now Education * High School Diploma or GED Skills * Excel * Mechanical Knowledge * Driver's License * Microsoft Word Position Summary The Repair Specialist Apprentice position is a combination of on the job training and related instruction at Northfield Medical's National Repair Center where the candidate will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of the Repair Specialist position. Skills covered will include the use, maintenance, and service of surgical instrumentation. After successfully completing orientation and training, candidates for this position will be deployed to the field (locations to be determined) to service, maintain and/or repair clients surgical instruments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Identify surgical instruments by type, surgical use and required functionality * Adjust, align, adhere, braze, stencil, serrate, sharpen, deburr, replace parts, finish and QC surgical instruments to required functionality * Identify, document and communicate non-repairable issues on all instrument types * Identify, inspect and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to rigid container systems * Provide all quality parameters for specific repairs * Enter all repair information into Repair Manager, provide service reporting and microscopic images/ documentation on non-repairable damage * Maintain assigned service vans good working order and in accordance with Northfield Medical's policies, procedures and guidelines * Follow direction and coaching from more advanced Techs * Accompany Senior Repair Specialists to customer sites to repair instruments * Accompany Senior Repair Specialists to pick up and deliver endoscopic equipment * Drive a company vehicle in a safe manner Job Requirements/Specifications Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Required: * High school diploma or equivalent work experience * Ability to relocate on short notice * Must have and maintain valid Drivers License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record under the Northfield's Vehicle Policy and DOT standards * Required to pass DOT physical as well as any additional examinations in accordance with DOT and/or doctors requirements * Ability to pass vendor credentialing process and screening requirements to be credentialed at a hospital/health care facility * Basic proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel as well as ability to learn company specific programs * Mechanical aptitude including ability to read measuring equipment * Ability to work with a variety of small hand tools and technical equipment Job Type: Full-time Education: * High school or equivalent (Preferred) License: * Driver's License (Preferred)
