Sport Science Internship/Volunteer North Carolina State University, United States Updated: about 19 hours ago Location: Raleigh, NORTH CAROLINA Deadline: 21 May 2019 Position Details Position Information Vacancy Type Temporary Is Internal Transfer Only No Working Title Sport Science Internship/Volunteer Salary Range Anticipated Hiring Range Unpaid Internship Position Number 10SWH04 Work Schedule Flexible hours w/weekends, evenings and holidays as needed Full Time Equivalent (FTE) .5 Department 106003 - Athletics-Campus Equipment & Weight Rooms Department Athletics Job City & State Raleigh, NC Essential Job Duties The Sports Science Intern will work in collaboration with the Director of Sports Science, to deliver sport science services for the Olympic Sports programs at NC State. The selected candidate will provide support within methods of data collection, monitoring and testing integrated within the collegiate athlete setting. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours (including weekends, evenings and holidays when required). Duties: Duties will include (but not limited too): Assist with collection and administration of daily readiness data (Questionnaires, Forceplate testing), training load data (RPE questionnaires, GPS & Heart rate) and performance testing for Olympic Sports Teams (such as Mens Soccer & Womens Soccer) as guided by the Director of Sport Science. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of sport science related equipment, upholding high-professional standards for the work environment. Assist with daily administrative tasks delivery (feedback and reporting when required). Collaborate with current Strength & Conditioning staff to analyze historical data, providing support and feedback as necessary. Provision/delivery of research updates relevant to the field of applied sport science and strength & conditioning Other duties as instructed by the Director of Sport Science Other Work/Responsibilities Other duties as assigned. Minimum Experience/Education Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree. Departmental Required Skills Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in the Sport Science field (i.e. exercise physiology, biomechanics or equivalent discipline) Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Candidate is able to receive academic credit towards a degree Current certification of National Strength and Conditioning Association certification (CSCS) Experience working with collegiate level athletes and coaches Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel / Powerpoint Self-motivated, and able to engage in self-directed projects Required License or Certification n/a Special Instructions Resume Contact information for 3 references Job Open Date 05/14/2019 Must Be Open Until Positions will be posted until 5:00 PM ET on this date.
