Position Summary: The Engineering Tech Intern is a temporary position within the ORR Protection team working in our Louisville, KY HQ and assisting with a backlog of administrative support and job archival work within the fire systems design department. The Engineering Tech intern should ideally have a passion and interest in fire protection systems. We are seeking current students who are available to work full time through the summer, and potentially 16-24 hours per week on a year-round basis. Freshmen, Sophomores, Junior or Seniors will be considered. Applicants must be located in Louisville, KY area. Position Responsibilities Review electronic drawing and calculation files using computer software for relevant information. Review the drawings to determine the type of fire protection system the file pertains to. Electronically file the drawing and associated fire protection calculation files in our online filing system. Visit some of our customer sites to see what our business is about. Attend the June NFPA Conference and Exposition in San Antonio with the ORR team to experience the fire protection industry. Conduct research for ad-hoc requests as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Some college course work or equivalent experience preferred; Business Administration, Engineering or Engineering technology, Safety Science, or similar degree in process preferred; Strong verbal & written communication skills Strong customer service mindset MS Office 365 skills Previous Autocad experience a plus Some travel will be required intern will get an opportunity to visit remote ORR sites, as well as visit client sites Service * Passion for Excellence * Partnerships * Honesty and Integrity * Commitment and Respect * Leadership and Innovation Our values define our company.
