Requisition Number 19-0027 Post Date 5/14/2019 Title OCA Intern - Fall Division Office of the Chief Auditor (Standards) PT/FT Part Time City Washington State DC Description Our Mission The PCAOB oversees the audits of public companies and SEC-registered brokers and dealers in order to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports. Job Description Summary The PCAOB's Office of the Chief Auditor has an intern position available in its Washington, DC headquarters office. The Office of the Chief Auditor advises the Board on the establishment of auditing and related professional practice standards. These include standards for audits of the financial statements and internal control over financial reporting of U.S. public companies, and related standards of independence, ethics, and quality control. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad overview of the standard-setting process and an understanding of trends and developments affecting the accounting and auditing profession. You will be supervised by seasoned professionals that have experience in public accounting and other related fields. Responsibilities Work with project teams in support of standard-setting activities Collect and analyze financial and non-financial information Conduct research using the internet and subscription database services Assist with comment letters received on proposed standards and other public documents Assist during public meetings, including meetings of the Board's Standing Advisory Group Perform other duties and special projects as needed Requirements Qualifications Undergraduate (junior to senior level) or Masters level college student with accounting or auditing discipline Good oral and written communication skills Ability to organize and meet deadlines Willingness to work as a team member Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Ability to be flexible, work independently and be self-motivated Dependability a must Our Values As we seek to accomplish our mission and implement our vision, we expect integrity, pursue excellence, operate with effectiveness, embrace collaboration, and demand accountability.
