Posted on Insurance and Health Care Access Intern Squirrel Hill Health Center in Pittsburgh, PA, USA Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC), a dynamic and growing Federally Qualified Health Center in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an unpaid Insurance/Health Care Access intern for Summer 2019. This full time (40 hours per week) position is available immediately. The Insurance/Health Care Access Intern will assist with providing patients with information about appropriate options available to them including, but not limited to, purchasing insurance on the Marketplace; applying for Medicaid, CHIP or Medicare; and/or applying for SHHCs Sliding Fee Scale. Responsibilities: * Ensures that eligible patients have correctly submitted sliding fee applications * Connects patients to government insurance resources for which they may be eligible * Assists in the application process as needed and permitted * Provides pre-authorizations for patient visits as needed Qualifications: * Must be a current student (at least a Sophomore), with academic success (GPA of 3.0 or higher) * Strong attention to detail * Proven ability to initiate and work independently * Excellent communication skills * Reliable team player EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability Posted date: 15 hours ago
