Summer Intern, HOPES clinic Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, USA This is a part-time temporary position. Part-time management of HOPES Student Run Free clinic administrative duties including development of management protocols for laboratory and radiologic record keeping in EMR, development of protocol for development of service learning student responsibilities, development of budgets for foundation grants for operation of lab, student travel for presentation of research at national meetings for student run free clinic association and other duties as assigned by Medical Director. Assist in identifying/writing/managing grant opportunities using epidemiological standards and health indicator community markers and free clinic standards. Assist in developing educationally-required service learning directives at HOPES Student Run Free Clinic only. Maintain and analyze outreach data for student run free clinic scholarly publications and assist in writing scholarly articles for publication. Effectively communicate with professionals within Admissions and Enrollment, Student Affairs, Medical Education, Health Professions, and the Brock Institute for Community and Global Health. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelors Degree and experience in HOPES free clinic daily operational activities required. Computer experience including word processing and spreadsheets required. Medical software and website experience preferred. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to communicate and collaborate across with other clinic volunteers. * Flexibility and ability to handle competing priorities. * Strong planning and organizational skills * Must be a self-starter and capable of working with little direct supervision.
