Role Overview and Responsibilities Summary: The Engineering Support Technician requires a strong technical background coupled with good communication skills and an understanding of the electronic manufacturing process. The job requirements focus on PE support, test development and debug, manufacturing test support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Generate internal Engineering Change Notices to incorporate customer ECNs. * Evaluate similarities or differences in alternate devices and submitting to Product Engineer for final review. * Cross referencing customer specified parts to comparable devices being purchased. * Support Materials Group with confirmation of AVL and tape amp; reel information. * Quoting, developing, assembling and debugging functional test fixtures. * Support In-Circuit Test programming, fixture evaluation and fixture maintenance. * Enhance programs of Automated Test Equipment to make them more efficient. * Develop programming interface and or setup instructions to program devices. * Develop, converting, and documenting test procedures into TT Electronics format. * Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting support. * Troubleshoot products and provide feedback on failure mode. * Support PE Group by coordinating and performing test on Prototype and Pre-Production products. * Support Marketing and PE Groups by providing quotes on test time and fixture costs. * Use and practical application of various types of electronic test equipment: i.e. DMMrsquo;s, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Frequency Counters, and Signal Generators. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, Team Members and the general public. Understand Boolean Logic, binary, hexadecimal and octal numbering systems as well as utilize general algebraic and geometric tools. * Reasoning Ability: Ability to collect data, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
