Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As part of a small team, interns will provide support to the Development and Communications Departments at the WJP Seattle office. The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: � Provide administrative support to include preparing collateral and fundraising materials; � Field main office line calls and direct as necessary, receive packages, and provide other front desk support as needed; � Provide support for an ongoing data entry project for the organizations database; � Proofread and edit development and communications related documents; � Conduct research to identify potential funding sources outside of the organizations existing database; � Assist with preparations for meetings and presentations, including producing drafts of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and handouts, and preparing and assembling outreach materials for external distribution; � Provide general administrative support for WJP projects, including organizational work in Microsoft Excel and Word; fielding phone calls; proofreading and editing documents; and other tasks as needed; � Compile and prepare communications collateral including folders, handouts, and other WJP branded leave-behinds; � Maintain communications collateral supplies and materials including inventory tracking and ordering; � Assist with logging and maintaining media mentions in Salesforce database and other communications support related duties. Qualifications � Bachelors or Masters degree (completed or currently pursuing) in international affairs, social sciences, journalism, economics, policy studies, regional studies, or a related field; � Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with preference given to those with prior experience/proven ability managing large databases; � Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently and ability to give and receive feedback; � Highly dependable with ability to be flexible on day to day tasks; � Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent problem solving skills, and attention to detail; � Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
