The intern will work with existing codes written in other languages and convert them to effective and efficient python code. The intern will be expected to develop python-based software that processes externally prescribed datasets into a defined/prescribed format. The final deliverable will be robust and documented software (files) and a brief report detailing the approach, methods, and outcomes. Education and Experience Minimum: Bachelors degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred: Bachelors in an earth science field or similarly quantitative field, and some python knowledge. The intern should be knowledgeable in Python programming and basics of data management and analytics.
