The EMS group located in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, is a significant contributor to this high innovation index and we are looking for a Mechanical Design Intern to support our efforts. The position will assist in the design, and develop electromechanical products for the access control industry. Requires a working knowledge of design engineering fundamentals and SolidWorks MCAD. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Support efforts to design, prototype, test efforts of electromechanical access control products. * Works with cross functional teams to provide design solutions that address expressed and implied (through industry knowledge) product requirements. * Requires ability to communicate solutions through design and prototyping. * Assist in preparation of formal reports on product status and testing results for senior staff. * Will need to apply fundamental engineering principles to design challenges while being aware of the implications of cost, schedule and manufacturability of the product. * Must be familiar and able to apply basic, industry drafting standards & tolerance methods (e.g. ASME Y14.5). * Other duties as assigned Education and/or Experience: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (B. S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent) from four-year college or university; must have completed at least 2 years of the program. Lets open the doors to the future together!
