The Legal Intern's responsibilities will include various projects assigned by members of the legal team, including, but not limited to the following tasks-- The legal intern's responsibilities will include various projects assigned by members of the legal team, including, but not limited to the following tasks-- Perform legal research and drafting in areas such as ethics and compliance, governance, risk management, contracts, data privacy and security. Assist in revising company policies & licensing templates. Work on risk management projects, collection matters, and prepare and review presentation materials. Support the attorneys and professional support staff as instructed in defining and editing legal documents, forms, and contracts. File, organize, and assist in updating and maintaining corporate documents, insurance records, and other legal databases. Provide support on privacy reviews and assessments. Additionally, the legal intern will assist the legal office members in other special projects, as assigned. Required Skills: Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and writing skills. Ability to work well with others, proven capability to handle numerous tasks efficiently and timely, and a desire to be a team member. Self-starter who is results-oriented and exhibits responsibility, creativity and intellectual curiosity. Proficient in word processing programs and able to type. Desired Skills: Currently a student in pre-law and/or public policy, undergraduate program. Involvement in extracurricular activities demonstrating initiative and leadership Sustained excellence in academic performance High Level desire to help our nation its more critical problems Exhibits the characteristics of a continuous learner Additional Information: 70% of MITRE's Full- time jobs require US government security clearances; therefore, many internships and full time positions require that the candidates be clearable.
