What job title, keywords Where city, state, country Home View All Jobs ( 2,459,155 ) Job Information APTIM Data Systems Intern in New Orleans , Louisiana Job Overview: APTIM Energy Solutions is seeking applications for a 2019 summer paid Internship, minimum part time and up to full time depending on project needs, in its downtown New Orleans location, with potential for a Fall 2019 extension. The local New Orleans team is looking for a computer savvy Junior, Senior or Graduate student enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program. The Data and Information Systems Intern will work under close supervision of the Data and Systems Manager on data analysis, data cleaning, reporting, process improvements, database enhancements, website and portal design, project management and planning across one or multiple programs and will participate in initiatives to ensure that best practices are implemented, processes are optimized, and efficiencies are achieved. The role interfaces between the Data and Systems Manager and users in a specialized industry to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within the program. Job duties will also be to document product/service requirements and develop test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. Role requires the individual to learn general and specialized knowledge of system capabilities to support contract initiatives. This position will assist in database maintenance ensuring user specifications are communicated appropriately and will track the completion status of any development schedules. The internship will also help ensure data is clean and high-quality. Applicants should have the aptitude to perform activities in at least one if the following areas: data quality control and systems administration, business and technical processes, business information processing, internal and external web page development, data mapping and mining, data analysis, project management and planning. This individual will support APTIM's Energy Solutions group that administers Entergy New Orleans' comprehensive energy efficiency program, Energy Smart. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Management and optimization of program tracking system and databases Interface with developer and end-users -- communicate requirements and manage or implement requests Synthesize program data for energy efficiency programs Data analysis and reporting of program-specific metrics and performance, and in aggregate across all portfolios Prepare and standardize high-quality, comprehensive reports for clients and internal team, including dashboards Long-term information systems and technology planning Manage tasks, systems, projects, processes across the greater Energy Solutions group for DSM programs as assigned As assigned, coordinate with Data & Systems Manager to ensure program needs, including project planning as related to reporting, and data integrity minimums are met Conduct QA/QC of program processes and protocols related to data and reporting, offering design improvements and recommendations Directly assist in the resolution of program operation issues related to data and systems Ensure compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations. Basic Qualifications: Project and task management skills Understanding of IT systems and IT architecture Analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and quality assurance Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects or initiatives Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master's degree program, at the Junior, Senior or Graduate level, in one of the following fields: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Software Engineering or other relevant degree type.
